Black Mountain Welcome Table Announces New Status

The Black Mountain Welcome Table announces its status as an independent nonprofit organization, with certification in process. Also, its donation-based lunches will be served from 12-1 p.m. every Wednesday at St. James Episcopal Church in Black Mountain.

“At this stage of our development, it is prudent for the Welcome Table to operate independently,” said John Crognale, founder and chef of the organization. “We are grateful to the town of Black Mountain for its support, particularly Parks and Rec.”

“Our first donation when we started in December 2008 was from St. James,” Crognale continued, “and we are grateful to them for their continued support, both financially and in the use of their fine facility.”

The Black Mountain Welcome Table is an all-volunteer nonprofit organization serving fresh, wholesome food and funded solely by donations. The Welcome Table endeavors to build community fellowship around a common table.
